Technology Council Awards Leading Innovators
16th Annual Awards Gala held at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts

HARRISBURG, PA - March 28 - The Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania honored seven organizations and two individuals for their professional accomplishments and innovation at their 16th Annual Awards Gala held at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg.

"This awards ceremony is unique because it's part of a 12-month plan to highlight and showcase technology innovations. This year, JPL Productions provided the latest technology used for rock concerts around the world for the event to showcase the outstanding innovators," said Kelly Lewis, President and CEO of the Technology Council.

"This event is the technology community's biggest and most anticipated night," said Lewis. "The Council is pleased to recognize the excellent applications and innovations that are being demonstrated right here in Pennsylvania. The Gala has turned into a premier FUN event. And, our attendees absolutely love the Amazing 59 Minute Awards Ceremony and the TechQuest Post-Party!"

New Horizons served as signature sponsor of the Gala. Bob Joyce, Chair of the Technology Council Board of Directors and President of Versatile, Inc, added, "Tonight's recipients, and all of this year's nominees for that matter, are shining examples of the great things taking place within our technology community."

Joyce said a record 74 nominees were narrowed down to three finalists in each of eight categories. Mr. Joyce added, "Selecting the winners was a daunting challenge in light of the many wonderful accomplishments of this year's nominees. Our region and state continue to demonstrate innovative strength and growth. Just a sampling of our outstanding nominees points to the fact that this region is at the forefront of cutting edge technology and innovation. On behalf of our many sponsors and the more than 450 attendees, we're very pleased and honored to recognize their achievements."

In addition to honoring companies and individuals in seven prestigious categories, this year's gala also recognized WQLN Public Broadcasting of Northwest with the Making a Difference Award, which was announced during the Awards Ceremony. At times during the evaluations of submitted nominations, the committee encounters an exceptional person or organization that exceeds the scope of the awards of recognition. This award was given to recognize the great work that WQLN is doing to advance the completion of GEDs for adults through distance learning in Pennsylvania.

Following the awards ceremony, the TechQuest Technology Post-Party was hosted and sponsored by the Harrisburg University of Science & Technology.
