Must be a teacher or instructor in K-12 public or private school, higher educational institution, or technical school. Must be outstanding example of 'Information Age Educator' using current technologies to educate, motivate and inspire students to develop careers in technology fields and become lifelong learners.

Outstanding Leadership in Technology

Individual must have gained reputation within industry or as an elected or appointed official in Pennsylvania as an innovator; must be a developer or substantial user of current technologies; must have committed time or resources to benefit technology businesses in the region or must have made a major personal contribution toward advancing policies and/or legislation supporting growth of the technology industry in the state.

Best Application of Technology

Educational, scientific or nonprofit organization, governmental agency or authority, or a company that either alone, or with the assistance of its collaborative technology partner, has creatively applied existing technology in a manner that results in a meaningful improvement of a process, practice or service.

Technology Product of the Year

Company must be a developer of current technologies and must have at least one product line that has achieved or has the potential to achieve a significant market impact, and/or the status of a 'transforming technology' for future innovation.

Growth Company of the Year

Must exemplify technology industry standards for 'best of breed' status in (1) growth rate (actual or anticipated); (2) impact of its products and extent of its markets; (3) qualifications of its management team; or (4) attraction of capital to implement its business plan. Must demonstrate significant growth or potential growth in revenue, products and services and/or number of employees.

Technology Provider of the Year

Company must be a provider of technology applications, equipment, resources, and/or solutions with a significant market presence. Its offerings must enhance the strategic processes and/or operations of its customers.

Technology Company of the Year

Must have demonstrated excellence in making technology work, through technology transfer or strategic use of technology, for the betterment of the company and industry as a whole in product, process and management must be a leading example of the technology industry in the Technology Council's service area.

Technology County of the Year & Technology Township of the Year
The awards for Technology County of the Year and Technology Township of the Year* shall recognize government programs, leadership activities, and processes that promote and utilize technology and innovation. This includes, but is not limited to, the successful integration of technology best practices, the use of technology to support government officials in the execution of their duties, and the implementation of innovative or cost-effective technology services to and/or for citizens and industry. Examples include the use of technology to improve and speed the delivery and security of government services; the facilitation of information sharing with other jurisdictions including municipal, county, state, and/or federal governments; and the use of technology to provide educational opportunities in non-traditional settings.

*The Township award also includes all cities and other municipalities
